Redefining Virtual Collaboration & Sales for Real-Estate Developers

The Brief

To partner with SpaceForm Technologies to help develop a more sustainable way for teams to meet, collaborate, and design remotely.

SpaceForm is a real-time collaboration and presentation platform that uses metaverse technology to generate virtual sessions. It enables anyone in the 3D design, architecture, and real-estate industries to create realistic 3D virtual prototypes of the built environment.

While the SpaceForm platform was already established, it required a web-based interface to simplify managing these virtual sessions, allowing users to organise, schedule, and manage VR meetings seamlessly.

mmtm were tasked with creating this web platform — a companion to the VR application that would make managing and running virtual sessions intuitive, efficient and adaptable to a wide range of user needs.

Our Solution

We approached the project with a clear goal: to create a high-quality, bespoke web platform that would seamlessly connect users to SpaceForm’s powerful VR experience.

Collaborative Development Process

Working closely with SpaceForm Technologies, we conducted an initial Product Design Sprint to map out user needs and technical requirements. From there, we developed a suite of features that allow users to invite team members, upload VR assets, and schedule virtual meetings — all within an intuitive, user-friendly interface.

From initial MVP scoping to deployment, we always prioritised a transparent, collaborative process whilst working closely with SpaceForm's in-house technical team.

Advanced Integrations for a Seamless VR Experience

The platform was custom-built to support large file uploads and real-time updates, enabling teams to rapidly prepare and launch VR sessions on SpaceForm’s app without technical bottlenecks.

To facilitate this, mmtm integrated Amazon’s GameLift services to dynamically spin up and down custom GameLift builds containing the uploaded 3D assets — ensuring an efficient and responsive VR experience.

Long-Term Impact and Continued Partnership

Since 2021, our partnership has grown from strength to strength. SpaceForm has since split into its own company (formerly Squint/Opera), and the product continues to gain traction among the world's top architectural and real-estate development firms. To this day, the mmtm team has completed nine development sprints, and we continue to support and maintain the application as it scales.

Overall, mmtm's web solution has allowed SpaceForm Technologies to expand its reach, enabling remote teams across the globe to collaborate and present in real-time as if they were physically together. With the platform's user-friendly setup, SpaceForm has streamlined its onboarding process, getting clients up and running in minutes — not hours.
